Georg Jensen Hallmark 1933-1944

item_665_730.jpg

Hallmarks from 1933 to 1944 feature the stylized 'G' and "J' within a square. The simple mark of 'STERLING' was used from 1930 until 1979, denoting the 92.5% silver content. The origin mark of 'DENMARK' is also shown. During the 1930s, some pieces feature an engraved version of the classic 'GEORG JENSEN' oval.

Note the designer, or 'DESSIN' mark 'GD' for Oscar Gundlach Pedersen. A 'GEORG JENSEN' mark is also seen above the design number.
